Mantras for Childbirth

Mantra is defined as a word, sound, or phrase repeated to aid concentration in meditation. Some religions or philosophies use a Mantra while praying or meditating to focus their mind on a basic thought, idea or belief.
In ohmMother Yoga's Mantras for Childbirth workshop you will have the opportunity to create your own personal Mantra, specifically for your pregnancy and your birth. Whether you are trying for a vaginal or cesarean delivery, you can have a mantra.
Your mantra will help your mind stay focused and calm during the more challenging times in your birth story. You can use your mantra to connect with your body, your breath and with baby. If you find yourself experiencing anxiety leading up to your birth, you can use your mantra to find your center and relax.
The workshop will start with a short all levels prenatal yoga and meditation practice. Then participants will have a chance to safely reflect on the thoughts they've carried with them throughout their pregnancy along with the hopes and fears they have for their childbirth experience. These reflections will then be used to guide each woman towards their personal Mantra. We will end the evening with a short breathing exercise, incorporating their Mantra, that can be used during the rest of their pregnancy and especially during the birth of their child.
