Attendees will have the opportunity to ask specific questions and get direction from experienced birth doula and board certified music therapist Kate Taylor. Kate will also share her expertise on using creative arts in birth preparation and music during labor and delivery. Participants will gain access to a playlist of musical examples used throughout the class and leave with creative ways to engage in their birth preparation that will empower a memorable birth experience. Handouts will include practical tips for using music for comfort measures during labor and delivery.
Kate Taylor is a board certified music therapist providing perinatal music therapy services and labor support as a birth doula to families across the NW suburbs of Chicago. Kate draws upon her clinical experience as a music therapist and knowledge as a birth doula to deliver innovative childbirth education curriculum for expectant parents. Kate enjoys teaching creative childbirth methods that integrate counseling, writing, movement, music and art into birth preparation classes. By offering private birth consultations and music therapy, Kate helps customize creative childbirth classes, allowing unmatched mentorship for parents and support to fellow childbirth educators. Kate has completed advanced clinical training in assisting water births, providing NICU support, as well as applications of guided imagery, neurologic music therapy and hospice care counseling.
