Join us as we take a soothing journey into deep relaxation and tension relief in both body and mind. The workshop will introduce both beginners and experience yogis to the practice of Restorative Yoga with an asana practice. We will also discuss restorative yoga’s benefits and applications and tips on beginning your own home restorative yoga practice.
Restorative yoga is a meditative and completely supported style of yoga that relies heavily on prop use and longer holds in poses to achieve deeper relaxation in the mind and body. Restorative Yoga allows you to explore the feeling of complete release and sets the body up for deep healing and repair.
Many poses in a restorative class will use props including blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets to cultivate greater stability and support, allowing the body to completely release any muscular tension and open into the stretch.
Restorative yoga poses are beneficial for ALL individuals to incorporate into their regular home practice. Consistent practice can result in countless benefits. Only some of which include:
