Sarah Canga, LAc.

Women's Holistic Health Specialist

Sarah has had an interest in yoga since she first read an article about it in the scholastic magazine at age 7. She first began a yoga practice at the Y in high school to help cross train with track and cross country but what really kept her coming back for more was how it helped manage her grief after her father passed away from colon cancer. She continued to take an interest in natural therapies after working on the oncology department at a hospital and was dissatisfied with not being able to give enough care and attention to patients. She began her studies in therapeutic massage at National University of Health Sciences in 2002. From there she received a 200 hour Hatha yoga certificate from the Temple of Kriya Yoga in 2004. After rigorous study and an internship in China, Sarah received a BS in nutrition and an MS in Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in 2008.

She has taught yoga and massage courses at National University of Health Sciences, Arizona School of Integrative Studies, Oakton Community college and College of Lake County as well as varies yoga studios through out the Chicago land area. She has had several private and community acupuncture practices and currently treats women's health, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum in Crystal Lake as well as at ohmMotherYoga in West Dundee.

How the energy of the seasons affect the body began as her thesis in grad school and then while still in school the idea to incorporate yoga, meridians and the seasons came one day at the beach as a way to help people understand and integrate this preventative medicine in an easy applicable way.

Sarah is also mother to a young girl and toddler boy who are her greatest teachers. You can learn more about Sarah and follow along with her blog at
